All About Poo…

During the 3 weeks that I was mostly off work, I cooked almost every meal & we ate a pretty clean Paleo-style diet (I love everything about my diet except that stupid name – also see: caveman diet). Then we went to a party New Year’s Day & ate a bunch of crap.

I ate about 5 cookies (homemade & yummy!), a cup or 2 of hot artichoke dip* with a bunch of Tostitos, barbeque Lays, veggies with dip (seed oil city), pork loin (lean meat – no fat), & I’m sure there is more because I was cram-packed full of junk. It was all super high carb, low saturated fat – exactly the opposite of our usual diet. Anyway, we felt terrible the next day. My innards were making horrible noises & my poo was grossly fluffy & fart-filled. Like, it was fart, poo, poo, fart, fart, poo, etc. it was awful (offal).

I could feel the crap I ate the night before traveling through my intestines & my belly was totally bloated. Bill was experiencing the same thing, but he probably ate twice the crap I did. Tuesday I woke up extraordinarily stinky. I mean really, really offensively stinky. I bathed & I was still stinky. Then when I came home, Bill said something about how incredibly stinky he was that morning & I told him about my stench & he realized that our third kidney (skin) must be helping remove all of the toxins, too. Wow.

At least on Tuesday morning, while my poo started out farty & fluffy, it ended up nice & solid & clean (fluffy poo doesn’t wipe well), so at least I knew that the crap was mostly out of my system. Also, when we were recovering on Monday, everything hurt. All of my muscles were cramped up & tight. They are fine now. Also, I realized this morning that I really didn’t eat anything on Monday except breakfast (at 2pm), I didn’t have a proper meal at all Tuesday & I really haven’t eaten since. Maybe a little yogurt or some bone broth, but I just wasn’t hungry at all. I’m pretty hungry right now, though!

*I made a double batch & it was mostly harmless as long as you can handle dairy:
2 cans artichokes, drained & chopped
A bunch of garlic, minced
2 lg cans of green chilies
2 pkg cream cheese, softened
¼ cup heavy cream
1 cup parmesan cheese
1 cup mozzarella
Salt & pepper
Bake at 350F for about 30 minutes or until browned & bubbly
